The game at the Riverside was postponed in controversial circumstances last Friday and Boro were keen to play the game on Saturday February 15 with both clubs having a free weekend after being knocked out of the FA Cup.
However Sir Bobby was keen to keep that weekend free to allow the players some rest in between international and Champions League commitments.
