Steve Harper was replaced at half-time by Tim Krul after suffering back spasms in the defeat of Swansea.
But Forster, who has a clause in his loan deal allowing him to return to Tyneside should Newcastle need him, will stay at Carrow Road.
3-0 up at half-time, Hughton decided to give Krul some Championship experience, and Harper's injury was nothing major.
Chris Hughton: “My feeling is that Steve will be okay.
"He just felt his back, which was starting to stiffen up. It was the right decision to take him off."
