We all know the score ... victory for United over the Cottagers would leave Hull City facing an uphill struggle even if they beat Bolton at the Reebok Stadium, with the Tigers facing a daunting task on the final day against Manchester United while Newcastle head to Aston Villa.

And although Sunderland have 36 points going into two tough final games against Portsmouth away and then Chelsea at home, Phil Brown's side are now favourites to go down.

Bob Moncur: "We've been waiting for a long, long time to see a performance like that.

"But while Alan will be delighted with all of his players, he must also try to keep it realistic.

"The 'beware' signs must be pinned up around the training ground.

"But that doesn't mean that there will be any reason to fear Fulham.

"If Newcastle go out and stick to their football principles like they did against Boro, then why can't they win back-to-back games?

"It was so nervy but so positive at times against Boro.

"But by the end of the game everybody was feeling relieved. Win again on Saturday and, if other results fall our way, it could be even sweeter.

"The flags that were flying all night made it a great environment. Middlesbrough knew they weren't at home.

"They knew they were in Newcastle and every team should feel like that.

"All around the ground and even in the Press box you could feel the atmosphere.

"If we can get some more of that electrifying atmosphere generated for Saturday, we're in with a real chance."
