The club are livid the news crept out that KK had been sacked, even though the media were ´spot on´with the article.

And today they have banned anyone at the club from the mention of the name Kevin Keegan, in an effort to salvage some respectability from the total shambles they find themselves in.

A club statement said: "Newcastle United Football Club can confirm that discussions are ongoing between the board and Kevin Keegan.

"Both the club and Kevin would like to reiterate that Kevin remains as manager.

"He has not resigned nor has he been sacked, as has been confirmed in respective statements made by Kevin and Newcastle United Football Club."

Keegan was not at the training session today, and nor did we expect him to be after the situation yesterday.

But he WAS at St James´Park having further talks with the Newcastle board ... but this time it seems on HIS terms.
