Newcastle's squad, who will be training on Christmas Day morning ahead of their home game against Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day, have been given a warning by Benitez before their players' party.
He said:"My feeling is to have players having lunch or dinner and spending some time together is a positive.
"I've told them 'don't do silly things' especially with social media around. Be normal - and enjoy. We have to find a positive side and hopefully they won't do anything silly."
