As though we haven't had enough grief with the antics of Joey Barton ... French defender Aristote Lusinga (a Newcastle target last season) has been sanctioned to a one-year ban plus a one-year suspended sentence.
The 18-year-old Nantes defender was sent off during a reserve game after putting his forehead against the referee's during the game with Orleans to protest against a decision.
The French FA have decided to sanction the defender with a very heavy ban.
Ahhh well ... could have been worse. Imagine the press if we signed him!
The ref allegedly "went down like a bag of spuds" even though he was hardly touched ... but the French have a weird and wonderful attitude to headbutting.
How can we forget Zinedine Zidane in the World Cup final?
Italy beat France 5-3 in a penalty shoot-out in Berlin, but Zidane's career ended in disgrace after he was sent off for crazily headbutting Marco Materazzi.
He actually head-butted his CHEST!
