Chelsea visit St James' Park this weekend, chasing Manchester United for the title, and Parker would love to put a dent in their Premiership hopes.

Parker still has something to prove to Jose Mourinho, because his time at The Bridge was cut short with injury problems and feels he didn't produce his best form.

Mourinho knows only too well Parker will be out to prove a point.

TheToon skipper injured his ankle on Easter Saturday in the Magpies' 2-1 win against Sheffield United.

Parker: "I still don't know how I did the injury at Sheffield United. Hopefully I will be able to train on Thursday and be fit to play against Chelsea on
Sunday.

"It's always nice to play against your former team-mates and friends, but it's a massive game for us and it will be up to players like myself to try and unsettle Chelsea and get amongst them."
