Toon 'Mighty Trio' Reunited!

The three Geordie boys will be reunited for the match in aid of the Prince's Trust at St James' Park, and Gazza cannot wait!

The Duke of Northumberland XI will play the Earl of Durham XI, but I think Newcastle United v Sunderland would have been more of a crowd pleaser.

After all, it was that prospect that created the interest, and they do hope to have the 'black and whites' playing the 'red and whites'.

Gazza and Pedro played together for the Magpies during the 1980s, and Gazza played alongside Big Al in Euro 96 when the pair helped take England to the semi-finals of the European Championship.

Gascoigne: "It's really nice to play in this game and to play alongside Alan again.

"I've played in a few games like this in the last couple of years and really enjoyed them.

"You always think that you might never play at St James' Park again, but this is another chance - and we have some terrific players in the squad too.

"Obviously to play alongside Peter Beardsley and Al again is massive for me.

"I played with Al at Euro 96 and it is an honour - and I can't wait to get the boots on for this one.

"Local derbies are always great to play in and it will be nice to play in front of a crowd.

"The main thing is that this is for a great charity and we can raise lots of money for a really good cause.

"If I can get there before Alan I would love to have a go at goal. Or maybe I could just touch one off to the side for him to have a shot!

"But I am sure that there will be a few tackles flying in as well with it being a derby."
