Toon Keeper Signs Four Year Deal

Tim Krul – who had a year left on his contract – has signed a new four-year deal at St James's Park committing himself until the end of the 2013/14 season.

Krul: "I'm delighted to commit my future to Newcastle United.

"Hopefully, I can fulfill my dream by becoming the future No1 goalkeeper, as well as getting into the Dutch national team squad.

"I've been at the club five years, and it feels like home. I'd like to thank Harps and (goalkeeping coach) Paul Barron for the guidance that they have shown me to date."

Chris Hughton: "We're delighted to have secured a four-year contract with Tim.

"He showed last season what an outstanding young goalkeeper he is and he can only get better."
