Bob Moncur: “That (game against Swansea) was the worst I’ve seen Newcastle play for ages.

“They were fortunate that they got a point but it was very disappointing.

“They seemed to be lacking something and nobody looked like they wanted to win.

“They were lacking that spark that they’ve had during the season and that was the disappointing part.

“But they dug in and got a good result and for that you have to give them a bit of credit.

“There were some players that were half a yard behind play.

“But it was the team performance that cost Newcastle all three points.

“There have been times when the team spirit has hailed at Newcastle, but it didn’t look to be there for a large part of the game.

“I don’t know what the problem was. But whatever it was must be sorted in time for Coventry.”
