Toon handed Chelsea tie

Will be hoping for a reverse of Carling Cup fortunes
Having already been dumped out of the Carling Cup by Chelsea earlier in the season at St.James Park the draw could have been kinder to us.

But, if we are to win this season’s FA Cup then at
some point we will have to beat
Chelsea. We just wish we could have avoided them until the final in Cardiff.

It’s a home tie however and will no doubt be played out in front of a live television audience.

A victory in this round would eliminate the competition favourites and present Graeme Souness’ men with a fantastic opportunity to bring a trophy back to Tyneside.

The full draw is,

Fifth round draw:
Bolton Wanderers v Derby County or Fulham
West Brom or Tottenham v Nottingham Forest
Everton v Manchester United
Charlton v Leicester City
Burnley v Blackburn
Rovers
Southampton v Brentford or Hartlepool
United
Newcastle
