Falkirk's Tuesday evening Scottish Cup defeat to Aberdeen certainly came at a cost ... and not just because they won't be tasting Hampden glory this season.

The keeper saved a penalty during the 3-1 defeat, but he was stretchered off with a shoulder injury.

The Dutchman, who has made a real impression in The SPL during a loan spell from Newcastle, has been diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder and is likely to be sidelined for some time.

"It's very disappointing," said Bairns boss John Hughes. "I really feel for him, it was a great save from the penalty.

"We'll all support him and hopefully he makes a speedy recovery."
