Toon Give Up On Chimbonda?

Everton are after the Tottenham fullback ... as Newcastle seem to have given up the chase.

Chimbonda has held talks with Sunderland ... and although he was wanted by Newcastle United, the Magpies seem to have lost interest.

The Daily Mail says Everton are in the frame to land Chimbonda, who has been made available by Spurs.

Sunderland boss Roy Keane is confident of landing all four of his Tottenham targets.

Spurs last week accepted a £23m bid for Steed Malbranque, Pascal Chimbonda, Younes Kaboul and Teemu Tainio and the Sunderland manager spoke with them individually at the weekend.

Keane: "If anything is going to hold things up now it is a few loose ends between Spurs and the players.

"I was impressed with the four when I met them and I hope I made a positive impression on them. I enjoyed having the opportunity to speak to them and I think they were made some very good offers."

Spurs boss Juande Ramos could also lose strike-force Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane, who are targets for Manchester United and Liverpool respectively.

Meanwhile, Spurs have handed the Premier League a dossier of evidence from over the last year to back up their complaint against United.

They have also made an official complaint against Liverpool and the two clubs will write back in response before it is decided whether they will face a charge.
