The youngster was back training with the Tannadice squad yesterday for the first time since suffering a hip injury six weeks ago.

The 21-year-old now has a chance of featuring in the World Cup but national coach Ange Postecoglou has scheduled the preparations for Brazil to begin at a training camp on Friday, May 16.

That is just 24 hours before United take on St Johnstone in the Celtic Park showpiece and the Tangerines are aware dispensation may be required to delay Good’s arrival.

Assistant manager Simon Donnelly: “We’ll have to speak to the Australians about Curtis. The Scottish Cup Final is a massive game so we’d maybe have to ask them a favour if it comes to that.

“Curtis did a bit with the physio at the end of last week and he’s back with the boys.

“Newcastle were happy with his fitness so we’ll see how he gets on.

“He has missed a few weeks and we won’t rush him.”
