Steven Taylor has predicted an exciting battle for places.

Steven Taylor: “The manager will have difficult decisions to make for the game with Arsenal and that is what you want.

“The new lads have come in and settled well, and there are also Hatem and Dan Gosling available. Everyone is challenging for places.

“The new signings have been a breath of fresh air.

“Everyone is fighting for their places and wants to start the Arsenal game.

“It is all about building towards the Arsenal match and being in the manager’s thoughts when he picks his team.

“We will be ready for that game.

“By that time I am sure we will know everybody inside out.

“All the new signings have mingled in very well, and the first few days of training have been good.

“Everyone is getting their fitness now and there is a good spirit among the lads.

“It is all about getting as many minutes under your belt as you can, and everyone is looking forward to the Darlington game. It is all about fitness and putting a good shift in.

“I respect Fabricio and I am right behind him along with all the other lads.

“I will help him, and he will help me and the other lads.

“He has a lot of experience – he has played for Argentina.

“I am sure he will be a fantastic leader for us.

“However, we will also need 10 other leaders on the pitch if we are going to achieve our aims.”
