Toon And Stoke Battle For Dutch International!

Luuk de Jong's representatives are set to meet with Borussia Monchengladbach next week to discuss his future.

The Swiss-born Dutch international joined Monchengladbach in the summer of 2012, shunning a number of English clubs, including Newcastle.

However, his move to Germany has been anything but a success with just six league goals since arriving in the Bundesliga.

Indeed, De Jong is yet to start a game this season and a move away from the club, probably on loan, looks likely next month.

De Jong has now confirmed a meeting with the club's director of sport Max Eberl has been organised.

"Next week, we'll put my adviser and my father together with Max Eberl. We'll see what happens after that," he told Bild.

With Newcastle still interested, and Stoke strongly linked, a switch to England appears likely and, when asked about a possible Premier League deal, he said: "You never know. In a transfer period it can go very fast."
