Toon Add More Pain To Bolton Plight!

Bolton Wanderers championship winning reserve side, that was built by Big Sam, endured an evening of torture at St James Park on Monday night as the Toon ran out 3-0 winners.

The young Trotters were sent trotting back home having suffered a hammering from Lee Clark's kids.

All the Magpies goals came in the second half from James Troisi, Jonny Godsmark and Darren Lough, for a United side that had none of the big names.

Newcastle keeper Mark Cook was a bystander as the visitors hardly threatened.

At the other end of the field, Troisi hit the woodwork and Bolton's Slovakian international Lubomir Michalik will never be as lucky again as the referee only gave him with a caution when he hauled back Godsmark with the striker clean through on goal.

Troisi broke the deadlock for Newcastle just three minutes after the break when tapping home a low Godsmark cross which had the Trotters defence counting pigeons.

Lough made it two with just over twenty minutes remaining when firing in a drive from the edge of the area and Godsmark completed the rout in the last minute when scoring from the penalty spot.

Al-Habsi was sent off for bringing down Godsmark to earn the penalty.
