Toon £7m Defender Set For A Start?

The Magpies are in the last 32 of the Europa League with tie against the Ukraine side.

Alan Pardew is likely to make changes to his starting line-up and the Toon fans are waiting to see Yanga-Mbiwa, who hasn’t started a game yet.

Yanga-Mbiwa became Newcastle’s second signing of the transfer window when he completed a £7m move from Montpellier, but he only made two late substitute appearances in the wins over Aston Villa and Chelsea.

Newcastle can only add three players to their UEFA squad list and those are the 23-year-old, plus Moussa Sissoko and Massadio Haidara.

Should Yanga-Mbiwa will replace either Fabricio Coloccini or Steven Taylor at the heart of the Magpies’ defence.

Haidara could also feature after impressing during an under-21s win over Stoke City last week, in which he scored his first goal for the club.

The Nancy left-back feels left in the dark, playing for Willie Donachie’s side in front of crowds of five men and a dog, while the other new signings are tasting first-team action against the likes of European champions Chelsea.
