Too Much Respect For Middlesbrough!

Lee Clark: "I think in the first half we were a little bit in awe of the first-team players on show from Middlesbrough.

"I can't fault the effort and application, but I think we gave them a little bit too much time on the ball and didn't want to do the good things we know we can do.

"I though there was a big improvement in the second half with the technical side of the game.

"With Ryan's penalty perhaps we could have levelled it.

"Fraser Forster has pulled off some fantastic saves too for us and he was superb all night, and if we had have nicked a draw Middlesbrough would have felt aggrieved probably.

"I am still delighted with the attitude though over all and the commitment was there too.

"We had a young side out compared to the experience of Boro.

"Ryan (Donaldson) struck his penalty really well and their keeper made a great save.

"Over the years all strikers have missed penalties and he showed the bottle to get up and take it.

"He was a bit down, but he has to make sure he has the confidence and belief to take the next one.

"He'll probably end up scoring the next time."
