Time may run out on bid to sink Mackems

It was a case of new manager same bad players as they lost 2-0 at home to Bolton on Saturday, leaving them ten points from safety.

This means that they must win four of their last eight games and still hope that Bolton lose their last eight to have a chance of survival.

So unfortunately the reality of the situation is that they are likely to confirm their Premiership exit at home to West Brom on April 19 or at Man City on April 21.

But they still have the all time Premiership low points total to aim at – a record currently held by Graham Taylor’s Watford with a staggering 24 in the 1999/2000 season.
