Getting past Arsenal - regardless what team Arsene Wenger put out - was always going to be dificult. And Sam must be cursing his luck.

But, to win a cup competition you have to face (and beat) at least two of the now established Top Four.

So perhaps it was better to meet one of them in the early stages while they have a glut of Champions League fixtures, rather than later.

Sadly it didn't work out.
