The Dream Ends For Former Toon Star!

Two weeks ago his side were 2-0 up against German side Werder Bremen with only 17 minutes remaining, to set up a place in the last 16 of the Champions League for little Anorthosis Famagusta of Cyprus.

But a ridiculous penalty decision, scored by Diego, put the Germans back in the game, and then Hugo Almeida took away the victory when he snatched a draw for Bremen with three minutes remaining.

But Ketsbaia was not finished yet. Victory over Panathinaikos in Athens would still see his side book their place in the knock-out stages.

But, just when things were looking good and Anorthosis Famagusta were holding their own, their substitute goalkeeper let a harmless shot from Giorgos Karagounis squirm through his hands and into the back of the net!

To make matters worse ... Inter Milan were already sure of going through, and went down 2-1 in Germany to a Werder Bremen side who needed to win to secure UEFA Cup football.

So that ends the European dream ... Champions League AND UEFA Cup!
