The Big Question - How Seriously Is Fergy Taking Hull?

Sir Alex Ferguson: "Obviously, I have to assess what is best for Manchester United and be fair to other clubs too."

Hull midfielder George Boateng: "They won't want to risk any players getting injured but football is a funny game because they have to respect their duty.

"Other teams will complain if Sir Alex Ferguson doesn't field a strong team because they think United are doing us a favour.

"I do hope their minds are on (the final in) Rome. I am going to speak to Edwin van der Sar. Hopefully, he won't perform like (Jussi) Jaaskelainen did against us (at Bolton)."

What Ferguson says and does, however, could prove very different and he is unlikely to risk his first team stars in a game which has very little meaning for a side already crowned champions.

The Premier League will have an eye on the situation, but as always ... their are rules for the rest of the league and rules for Manchester United.

The Premier League want nothing better than the Mancs to win the Champions League, because obviously it proves their 'product' is Europe's best.

Asked whether it would help City's chances of staying up if the likes of Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney are absent, Boateng joked: "I hope their kit man will be on their team sheet - although he might be a very good player as well!"
