But understandably Graeme Souness is keen to hang on to Taylor.
Souness said: "I got a call last week from an extremely well known Premiership manager inquiring if Martin was available.
"There's no chance, he will not be leaving this club. He has signed a new contract and we think he's got potential and obviously other people do too. We feel he has a chance of being a top player."
Taylor’s view on the potential move is unknown.
