Taylor back from Wanderers

The highly-rated England Under-20 international got his first taste of senior football during six appearances for the Chairboys and believes that the chance to work with Tony Adams has been an invaluable learning experience.

"I've got mixed feelings,” he told the Evening Chronicle. “It is great that Bobby Robson wants me back so quickly but I'm sorry to be leaving.

“I've had a great time and I've learned so much more about defending from Tony Adams than I would have learned at Newcastle."

Taylor’s regrets about coming back to United’s reserve team will not have been lessened by Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat at Grimsby Town, in which he played the full 90 minutes.
