According to a report in the Telegraph, Newcastle United now have another interested party in taking over the club.

Mike Ashley has put Newcastle up for sale, but he is not willing to let the club go on the cheap.

Amanda Staveley has been trying to agree a takeover of the Magpies, but still has some work to do before any deal is signed.

There is now some doubt over whether Staveley will be able to agree a deal for Newcastle.

And the Telegraph has now suggested that another party are interested in taking over the St. James’ Park club.

Their interest in the Magpies is thought to be at an early stage, but Rafael Benitez may be hoping that a deal is done sooner rather than later.

Benitez wants to spend money on upgrading his squad in the January transfer window, but is expected to have a limited budget if Ashley remains at the helm.

Newcastle need to improve their current squad, with the Tyneside club currently sitting in 14th place in the Premier League table.
