Take It On The Chin O'Leary!

O'Leary claimed Newcastle "should appoint Glenn as manager straightaway because with that luck he will win the Premiership".

Roeder: "I'll say something controversial for once. What David O'Leary said is a bit spiteful. I thought Villa were very lucky to be only 2-1 down at half-time. I said to the lads at half-time we had let Villa off the hook. In the second half we headed out their crosses and is it luck that Given saves the penalty?

"Our boys need some credit. They have been lashed away from home this year and this was an excellent victory.

"I am still ruling myself out for the job. I don't see why anything should change. We all have different ways of doing things. I can only be myself and I have obviously enjoyed the last week or so. I'm holding the fort but we have to do more than that. We've got to win games until the chairman decides who the new manager will be.

"But it is great when you win and sample that dressing room for 20 minutes or so after a game. We've had it twice now in a week and the lads are very happy."
