Sven praise for Jenas

He told the FA’s official website that of the young midfielders coming through in the Premiership the two he rated the most highly were JJ and Fulham’s Sean Davis.

"Davis at Fulham is doing very well in the Premier League and he has played in Europe too - it's the same with Jenas at Newcastle," said Sven.

"Talking to David Platt, he tells me a lot about these players and yes they are doing very well for their clubs and have done well for the Under-21s too.

"Every game they play, they gain a lot of experience...one day I will pick them."

February’s friendly against Australia would seem to be an ideal opportunity to give JJ his chance, especially with likes of Joe Cole, David Dunn, Michael Carrick, David Thompson and Trevor Sinclair either injured or out of form.
