Sunday semi-final date for Toon

The two FA Cup semi-final dates have been confirmed by The Football Association.

Arsenal face Blackburn Rovers on Saturday April 16 at 12.15pm with Manchester United's clash against Newcastle United taking place a day later with a 2pm kick-off.

Both matches will be staged at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, the venue for the final.

"The kick-off times are always set after full consultation with the police and other safety authorities," revealed FA communications director Adrian Bevington. "And with safety and security considerations given the highest importance.

"The decision to play this season's semi-finals in Cardiff was announced in September last year.

"Using The Millennium Stadium will allow around 30,000 fans from each club to attend the matches, which is more than at any stadium in England."
