Simonsen: "I think Newcastle are under a little bit of pressure at the moment and they definitely won't fancy coming down to the Britannia Stadium," the 28-year-old said.

"They'll look and see that we're in pretty good form at the moment and when the draw was made I think they won't have fancied the tie at all.

"The television people have obviously picked the game because they feel there is a possibility of an upset. They love to see the underdogs beating the big boys and I think there is a possibility of that happening.

"I think if we're honest we quite fancy ourselves as well. We are going well and it'll be a good game for us.
"When you draw a big Premier League club in the FA Cup every team wants to show what they can do and we're no different.

"It's a big chance for the club to show that we mean business and that we are ready to challenge to get in the Premier League and on our day compete with teams in the Premier League.

"Everybody involved with the club off the pitch is really looking forward to it and the players are certainly excited by the tie.

"Hopefully we fill the ground and the fans can create a good atmosphere and from a personal point of view as a Sunderland fan to get one over Newcastle would mean an awful lot to me and to my family as well."
