Fans have reacted with fury on our messageboard at the prospect of St James’ Park being changed next season.

Yes Ashley's dummy was bouncing about SJP yesterday as none of the proposed buyers could come up with the dosh to buy out the Spurs fan.

So he made a statement the club is officially OFF THE MARKET ... when the fact remains nobody wants to buy it!

This is the sixth time he has taken the club off the market, but he would still like people to know he "could be swayed" if someone offers £80m.

So like every other statement the fat bastard has made ... it's a load of bollox!

The rumours from London claim Ashley is out to grind the club into the ground, as we hear he wants to gain "revenge" for the way he has suffered due to "hate" chants against him throughout the many games given TV coverage.

He was attacked at Scunthorpe, and he knows it is only a matter of time before something serious happens.

Never in my 50 years following Newcastle United have I known so much hate towards one person.

In the club statement about the appointment of Chris Hughton and Newcastle United being taken off the market, it was also revealed that naming rights to the ground would also be sold.

Steve Wraith, editor of Players Inc fanzine, said the news that Ashley was staying would dismay most of the Toon Army.

He said: "I don't think it's come as any surprise to any Newcastle fans.

"I think Ashley has been trying to string the fans along. I don't think he's had any intention of selling the club.

“I think it will come as a big disappointment to a lot of Newcastle United fans.

“Nobody trusts Mike Ashley. I think the Kevin Keegan court case proved that we can’t believe a word they say.

“I think because we don’t get told the truth is probably why we’re in the mess we’re in.”
