ALAN SHEARER – Will be involved at St.James’ for a long time yet. Needs to play fewer games next year and play alongside a pacey partner. Still fantastic and we need his goals.
SHOLA AMEOBI – It’s going to be a big season for Shola. He will be at an age when potential no longer counts. An operation in the summer will hopefully end his injury problems and let’s hope we see the player we know he can be next year.
PATRICK KLUIVERT – It was a dream we thought we’d never see when Kluivert signed. The following nine months have been a nightmare. Must go given his lack of desire and ambition. The one thing Kluivert isn’t short of is weight. A huge disappointment.
CRAIG BELLAMY – Was our most effective player without doubt. To recoup the £6million we paid for him would be a relief given the circumstances surrounding his departure.
