Newcastle United fans face a nightmare journey to Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium.
The Premier League published next season’s fixture list and the club is scheduled to travel to Tottenham Hotspur on August 24, though the game could be moved for live broadcast.
Kings Cross train station is closed over the August bank holiday weekend. Network Rail – who are upgrading tracks outside the station as part of a £1billion upgrade of the line – are advising passengers against travel that weekend because of “severe disruption”.
It is the first time in 20 years that the Peterborough to London stretch of the East Coast Main Line will completely shut down for improvements.
Train operator LNER said: “Customers are advised to travel on the Thursday, Friday and Tuesday for this weekend.”
