Spurs Can Give Shay Nothing We Cannot!

New Spurs boss Harry Redknapp says he will make an offer for the Irishman "if he becomes available".

The transfer window reopens in January and HOPEFULLY Mike Ashton will be gone.

The Toon owner tried to off-load several Newcastle stars (including club skipper Michael Owen) on the last day of the summer transfer window, showing money was the man's motivation.

And we can only hope he is not at the helm when players become available for transfer.

Redknapp is far from convinced with Heurelho Gomes, and a goalkeeper is his number one priority.

Given has already turned down Spurs rivals Arsenal, and let's be honest here ... the Gunners are seen as a far bigger club.

The goalkeeper said he had no interest in a move to London, and why should that change with an offer from relegation-threatened Tottenham?

Given is "on a mission" to rewrite the Newcastle history books ... like his old mate Alan Shearer who broke Jackie Milburn's 50-year old goalscoring record.

When Spurs come to St James' Park on Saturday 20th December, only TWO players will be between Shay and Newcastle's appearance record, on that day he equals 3rd place Frank Clark.

Redknapp: "Shay Given is a great goalkeeper who I admire. Any manager would have to be interested in him if he became available," Redknapp is quoted as saying in the Daily Mail.
