Souness Set To Challenge Mourinho

According to the latest transfer rumours, Souness is after Spanish midfielders Joaquin (Real Betis) and Ruben Baraja (Valencia).
Manager Graeme Souness is said to have spoken with Albert Luque about the pair and has been given a positive reply about the two players.
Joaquin was in action against Liverpool on Wednesday night and has been a target of Chelsea. So it could be a long road for Souness if he intends to go head-to-head with Jose Mourinho and his Russian millions.
If he wants to bring in a midfield player, it's pretty obvious one or two will be heading south. Amdy Faye and Lee Bowyer look to be the obvious contenders. Faye has failed to impress and even played for the Reserves against Sunderland on Wednesday. Bowyer, on the other hand, can't wait to get away and Aston Villa are favourites to snap him up.
