Assistant manager Alan Murray, plus coaches Phil Boersma and Dean Saunders will join the club.

"Graeme has taken the opportunity to go to Newcastle," commented Saunders, a former Welsh international, "and he has asked me to go with him.

"It's a great opportunity for Graeme and myself, so I'm really looking forward to it. It's a great club with great fans."

The position of John Carver at the club looks to be in doubt despite Sir Bobby's right hand man being in charge for the game against Blackburn.

Robson himself has been linked with a move back to former club Ipswich Town. Tractor Boys chairman David Sheepshanks has refused to rule out, or rule in, a move.

"I have thought about it and I'm sure the supporters here have had the same thoughts.

"I would imagine Bobby will be weighing up all sorts of opportunities and there have been reports of FA interest as well.

"There would be many factors to take into consideration and I'm sure we will think about it again and if one day it was appropriate, then wouldn't it be lovely."
