Danny Simpson is the latest player to fly home from Newcastle United’s tour of the United States.

The right-back left the team’s Rosen Plaza Hotel on International Drive hours before the game with Orlando last night.

Simpson was give permission by Alan Pardew to leave the trip for personal reasons on Saturday lunchtime.

Despite his squad already decimated after visa refusals and the injury to Hatem Ben Arfa in Kansas earlier this week, Pardew made an instant decision after a one-on-one chat with Simpson.

Writing on Twitter last night, Simpson wrote: “Flying back to the UK today. Wanted to play the next two games, but I want to be home in time for the birth of my baby girl.”

United are now down to 17 outfield players on the tour of the States and Ryan Taylor, Jose Enrique and Haris Vuckic are carrying injuries.
