Solano Would Consider Call

The Peru star quit playing for his country in 2005 after he was blamed for a defeat when he played at full-back - a position he hated at the time but has played in recent months for Newcastle with great success. He did return to the national set-up a year later, but has not been a regular.

The 32-year-old is looking for a new contact at Newcastle in the summer.
Solano: "Yeah I'd like that, I wasn't in the last squad but we will see what happens. It's a difficult situation at the moment, there's a lot of in-fighting with our Federation.

"Also, it's not like Brazil or Argentina who have many players.

"We only have four or five at big clubs and if anything goes wrong it's always my fault, or (Claudio) Pizarro's, or (Jefferson) Farfan's. So you are always under pressure.

"If they call me I will certainly think about it - although I have to think about my club as well."
