So Cruel For Krul

A disappointing match which lacked clear-cut chances looked set to end in a stalemate before Mehmet popped up to claim the glory with a deflected strike.

After successive heavy defeats by the Old Firm, Falkirk looked the likelier to score but it was Gus MacPherson's men who left celebrating a second straight win after beating Inverness last week.

The Toon goalkeeper had a very quiet game, but almost out of the blue, St Mirren came within inches of a 55th-minute lead. Corcoran's delightful 18-yard effort with the outside of his left foot eluded keeper Krul and struck the junction of post and bar.

But just when it looked like the game was going to peter out, battling St Mirren claimed a sensational 90th-minute winner.

A scramble in the box saw the ball fall at the feet of Mehmet and he found space to drill a deflected strike past Krul and spark wild celebrations from the Paisley support.
