A story in the paper (presumably sandwiched between 30 pages of right-wing ranting about asylum seekers and a 12-page special on Goldie Hawn’s latest anti-cellulite diet) claimed that Newcastle planned to offload Bellamy in the summer in a bid to improve discipline at the club.
However immediately after the draw at West Brom Sir Bobby set the record straight.
"I have no knowledge of Craig Bellamy wanting to go away and I have no knowledge of anybody wanting to buy Craig Bellamy," he said.
"It (the story) has no foundation and it is an attempt to sell newspapers."
