Sir Bobby nets award

With four wins and a draw in the Premiership during January the judging panel decided that he merited the award ahead of Sir Alex Ferguson.

A spokesman said: "As the season progresses Sir Bobby Robson's side are looking more and more like potential champions.

"His guile, vast experience and ability to motivate have served him well."

Speculation that Jermaine Jenas would win the Player of the Month award proved to be incorrect with Man United’s Paul Scholes scooping the prize – unfortunately a difficult decision to argue with in view of his form.

Lets just hope that the curse of the Manager of the Month doesn’t strike on Sunday.
