Despite all the press stories of the past few days and the claims of Barcelona president Joan Laporta that Freddy Shepherd had made an enquiry about the Dutchman, Sir Bobby insists that he doesn’t know anything about it.
"I didn't know we were after him, to be honest," he told a press conference after the 3-2 win at Fulham.
"I don't think anybody from Newcastle football club has spoken to him."
