Sir Bobby backs Kieron for England

Dyer’s England career has been interrupted by numerous injuries and bizarre selection decisions, meaning that most of his caps have come as a late substitute.

But his club manager still thinks he has a future as an international player.

When asked about the England prospects of Dyer and Southampton’s James Beattie, Robson replied: "He (Dyer)'s an international player, he is there, while Beattie could be there if he develops and his technique improves as he's at a good age and he's strong.

"Kieron just needs a chance, he needs to play. He just needs someone to say 'You're in the team'. Otherwise, it's all there."
