Now Alan Pardew has moved to defend his player by saying Simpson does have a Newcastle United future.

The defender told Newcastle Magistrates Court this week he thought his time at St James’ Park was ending.
Alan Pardew: “He has been a great players for us and he will continue to be.
“He wants to earn a new contract and if he keeps playing like he is there is a good chance he will get one.
“I think, basically, he had some bad advice.
“He feels a little bit let down in himself, but it is nice his home life is back on an even keel.”
