The 32-year-old Frenchman had Terry in his pocket at set-pieces during Sunday's 0-0 draw at St James' Park, and did so to such good effect that the Blues man was left repeatedly complaining to referee Mark Halsey about his approach.

Sibierski: "I was surprised John Terry was complaining because he is English. I didn't touch him - or if I did, it was no more than he touched me. We have to compete for every ball.

"But they felt the game was going against them because we were playing very well.

"We frustrated them. They were very disappointed as they needed three points to have a chance of winning the title.

"They were worried at the end, and it was a good feeling for us.

"We needed a performance like that against Chelsea. We did it and we are happy, even though we didn't win.

"I think we could have won. We could have done better with the chances we had.

"But it is a good point for us, and a bad point for Chelsea."
