Should Leicester Have Gone With Ex-Toon Boss?

Milan Mandaric, who is said to be a "close friend" of Roeder, admits that Gary Megson's exit from the Leicester City hot seat has hit the club harder than Martin Allen's departure.

The City chairman said Roeder was in the frame, but instead he went for ex-Newcastle midfielder Megson. And I'm sure every Toon fan who saw him play in the black and white will hope he is a better manager than he was player!

You could call him a "headless chicken" but his ginger mop lit up St James' Park like a beacon ... which is more than his feet ever did.

Milan Mandaric: "It is harder, because as a manager I believed in his (Megson's) capabilities and I thought he would take us forward.

"But, for whatever reason - shortage of loyalty, or whatever - it did not work out.
"I will conduct a search for a new manager in the proper way.

"I approach the club and do it in the proper way. I ask for permission and, if it is not given, I move on.

"I do not expose that club. If they say no, it means they do not want him to be disturbed.

"I do not want to go into a messy situation."

Roeder is back on the list ... but it seems Carrow Road is his next destination.
