On Match Of The Day Newcastle legend Alan Shearer had his say:
"Tim Krul made fabulous saves at vital times of the game. He made saves from Bony that could have been 2-0 or 3-1 and that would have made it a very different game.
"It will be a better two weeks with the international break (for Pardew) for him than had they got nothing today.
"Pérez, Rivière, Colback and Cabella are not performing."
"But they are not playing well. 14 goals against, and Tim Krul is going to have to be at his very best in this team.
"One win in 15 games - that's why he (Pardew) is under pressure.
"I still think that the players are playing for him.
"They were behind twice and came back, like they did against Hull.
"They are still fighting for him, it is just ability-wise.
"They sold class players in Cabaye, Remy (who was actually on loan) and Debuchy. And brought in Pérez, Rivière, Colback and Cabella, who are not performing."
