Sex On The Pitch At St James' Park!

Well Sam Allardyce says "I only play winning football ... and if you think that's sexy ... great!"

Allardyce: "I would say we're ahead of schedule. If we can win at Reading (this weekend), I think we'll be well ahead of schedule.

"We've taken 17 points from nine games. It's the best start to a season here in more than 10 years and I think it's all coming together. It (the season so far) has been a terrific performance from us.

"I'm delighted with the progress we've made. We've scored three great goals, we've played some superb football and we've demonstrated excellent finishing. We're a side that's growing in confidence as we get to know each other a little better.

"We've scored another three goals at home, that's the third game on the trot that we've scored three and, at this moment in time, our home record is getting us where we want to be.

"We have to make sure we don't waste all this hard work when we go to Reading. We have got to take this form with us and make sure we get something from that game.

"I only play winning football. I don't play anything else. If you think it's sexy, that's great. At the moment, the one thing I'm concerned about is that we can't keep a clean sheet but when we're scoring as freely as we are and winning games comfortably, it's a good thing to be working on.

"Given where Tottenham have finished in the last two years, they're a big side with big players, a club that has spent big money over four years.

"But we've beaten them comfortably. They're not quite what they are without the confidence but given the quality that's there, I'm surprised at where they are. I thought they had turned the corner. I'm glad they haven't.

"When things are going so badly, you have to attempt to take advantage of their lack of confidence. We took advantage and scored three great goals.

"We've outplayed Tottenham, done what we wanted to do, taken three points and cut the gap in the table."
