Self-Centred Kinnear Not Looking At Big Picture!

Kinnear's comments appear to have forced Given's hand, and is agent/lawyer claims the player "feels compelled to consider his position" due to "turmoil on and off the pitch".

Kinnear is backing Mike Ashley to the hilt ... simply because he knows he has a job as long as Ashley is the owner. And the former Wombles manager simply does NOT know the mess Ashley has got us in!

Given has campaigned for star players to come to the club to help the Irish international achieve his dream and WIN something.

Ashley 'walked the walk' ... gave up the ghost ... and he is only here for ONE reason ... because he cannot sell the club at the price he wants.

And Kinnear continues to talk out of his arse and believe things are on the mend (because Ashley is staying) when he is about to lose a Geordie legend.

And what makes it so hard to take is that every Toon fan I have spoken to since Shay said he was on his way ... say the don't blame the goalkeeper ... and wish he goes on to win the medals he deserves.

Given said he wanted to become a Toon legend and beat Jimmy Lawrence's appearance record ... but I can promise him ... he ALREADY IS A LEGEND!

Given's statement from his agent: "Shay is very despondent following the very poor performance of the team against Liverpool last weekend.

"It was the lowest point of his football career and a performance that he would not wish to be repeated.

"When he signed a new five-year contract in 2006 it was on the basis that the club would challenge for major honours, but on the present evidence all that he can see ahead with the turmoil on and off the pitch is a battle for survival.

"Having served the club loyally for over 11 years, Shay feels compelled to consider his position in the light of the interest being expressed in him by Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham."
