Sam Allardyce said in pre-season the Carling Cup was our most realistic chance of glory. And how ironic that he put out his strongest team (when others like Birmingham, Charlton, Man Utd and Arsenal put out reserves sides), and we suffered defeat.

The Carling Cup draw takes place on Saturday lunchtime at 12.15pm, and obviously we won't be in it.

The teams left in the draw are Arsenal, Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool, Bolton Wanderers, Cardiff, Chelsea, Coventry City, Everton, Leicester City, Liverpool, Luton Town, Manchester City, Portsmouth, Sheffield United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United.

Chelsea are now favourites, taking over from Man Utd who were knocked out by Coventry City.

Chelsea 7/2
Liverpool 9/2
Arsenal 11/2
Tottenham 8
Manchester City 12

As for the FA Cup, Sam's hopes of a first trophy are 20/1.

Newcastle last won the FA Cup back in 1955.

Manchester Utd 4
Chelsea 5
Liverpool 6
Arsenal 7
Tottenham 14
Newcastle 20
